    Bram Faems

Bram Faems looks back on a very diverse career as teacher, ICT Coordinator and deputy school leader at the Jonatan Berkenboom school in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium. This school for special-needs education for children with learning difficulties has a long-standing reputation in helping these children by using technology. At the school he started the Jonatan Academy project 2011. This project takes a different approach to e-learning. For children, both watching online educational movies and creating them is part of the learning process. For his work on this project he was awarded by the Queen Paola Foundation for Education and he won the award for Teacher as Innovator and Change Agent at the European Microsoft Partners in Learning Forum.

Bram Faems got the opportunity to broaden his horizons thanks to internationally acclaimed teachers’ network KlasCement. He is in charge of designing the website so teachers can easily find teaching resources and add their own materials on the network. With the team he searches for ways in which KlasCement supports innovative and qualitative education.

Koen Timmers teaches computer science, and more specifically, web design at CVO Heusden-Zolder in Belgium: "Since the moment I became a teacher, in 2000, I’ve been passionate about e-learning. I founded my own educational website www.zelfstudie.be, on which digital courseware is published. I completed an additional master course “Technology Enhanced Learning, Innovation and Change” at Sheffield University, in 2014. I always try to find new approaches in which ICT is used to increase the motivation of my students. I try to be innovative by implementing blended and distance learning, screen casts, social media in my class room. I strive to a paperless classroom and embrace project based learning. OneDrive, Office and Lync spice up my lessons. It will be my pleasure to share thoughts and approaches with you.”
