Word soon spread about what a fantastic tool we had available to us.… Visit the author's original post

Tablets in action at Hardenhuish School

The following is a guest post from Gerald Haigh, looking at the way schools can learn from each other when it comes to deploying tablets. As he explores below, while the scale of a rollout may dictate the types of devices that a school opts for, when using Windows tablets the underpinning platform of Office 365 is available to all and allows for a consistent working experience to be enjoyed by all members of staff and students.

Linx 8There’s little doubt that the arrival of inexpensive Windows tablets (Dell, HP, Linx, Toshiba, for example) is giving schools – especially those needing to update or replace their existing computers - the freedom to think differently about their technology infrastructure.… Visit the author's original post

MIEE TV – Expert Educators using Office 365 in the classroom

Microsoft Expert Educator

This weeks MIEE TV blog is all about Office 365 in the classroom. Say 'Office 365' to a lot of people, and they immediately just think 'Word, Excel and PowerPoint'. Well, while these commonly used applications (and so many more) are indeed found within the Office suite, Office 365 is much more about the working environment and the interconnectivity it enables between these applications, allowing the students and teachers who use it the freedom and ability to collaborate whenever and wherever they are.… Visit the author's original post

With less than two weeks to go until polling stations all over the United Kingdom open their doors to voters in what is being described as the most tightly run election in a generation, incumbent MPs and those looking to oust them from their seats are hitting the campaign trail in a final push to win every vote that they can. For the people of Runcorn this week, this meant a visit from Prime Minister David Cameron as he turned out to support fellow Conservative Party member and local MP for Weaver Vales, Graham Evans.… Visit the author's original post

A year in the life of Harry Traynor – Global Student Ambassador

There is only a certain amount of times you can use the term ‘right hand man’ in these kind of blogs, but that is how I would describe Harry Traynor who is one of our Microsoft Global Student Ambassador’s here at Wymondham High School.

Harry is 18 and we have been working together on the rollout, deployment and ‘crazy ideas’ to do with IT both in and around the school. I first met Harry as a Year 13 student along with Paul Harvey, back in September 2013, and we first started talking about Microsoft certifications, this soon expanded into Harry’s passion of building computers and generally playing with technology when he had the opportunity.   … Visit the author's original post
