Mastering the Surface Pro 3

I just finished putting together my presentation on mastering the #Surface Pro 3. I am sharing my presentation for free here and on social media @dazgm on Twitter. While preparing this presentation, I visited many websites, watched videos and did a performed various amounts of experimentation.

tab2At the start of the preparation, I thought I knew everything there was to know about the SP3.  After writing it, I feel as though there is so much more I could find out.  I challenge anyone not to be absolutely impressed with what the Surface Pro 3 can do. … Visit the author's original post

5 Tips for holding a OneNote Workshop

Screenshot 00213

Inspired by the Microsoft Innovative Educator “#MSFTtips Contest” I decided to write down my 5 Tips for everbody, who wants to hold an OneNote workshop for other educators. In the past 3 years I have had great oppertunities to introduce OneNote to many, many educators in Austria (and Germany too!) and I am pretty proud of my efforts, because I have changed some teachers AND students daily life since they are using Microsoft OneNote.

  • Tell them your WHY

So if you never heard of Simon Sinek you have to invest the following 18 Minutes into his genious TED talk about what he calls the” Golden Circle”: WHY – HOW – WHAT:

So I always start my Workshops traditionally with a small PowerPoint-presentation about my personal path to OneNote.

TeachMeet | JABI Secondary School

#MIEExpert15SkypeTeachMeet

This afternoon I participated at a TeachMeet for the Jabi Government Secondary School, Abuja, Nigeria.  Their stunning school website is located at http://www.gssjabi.com/

Thank you to Wellington Oboh for inviting me as a presenter to share the Microsoft Educator Network and Office Mix. It was great to see all the smiling, happy faces throughout the Skype session. I shared my screen in order to present on MSEN, then used the same presentation as an OfficeMix example explaining how one would add Office Mix via the mix.office.com website directly into PowerPoint, the features of Mix as well as a few design considerations.

Office with a Stylus: Part 3 – PowerPoint

When you have a Tablet PC such as the Surface Pro 3, it is really easy to get stuck using OneNote for everything. After all, the two are a perfect match. But – there are plenty of other applications out there that can very effectively leverage the stylus. In this four part series (yes, I’ve added another part in the planning!), I’m going to look at Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, giving real life examples of how I have used the stylus in the software for my classes, and then a quick how to guide if you want to get out and give it a go.Visit the author's original post

My First Microsoft Office Sway

I recently had an opportunity to experiment with Office Sway, a cloud based application that allows users to create, share, and embed presentations.

My first impression of Sway is an easy to use tool that is cross platform compatible across multiple devices. Setting up my first Sway was an easy process. Users can add and manage existing work with a few simple clicks.

On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, Sway to make a summary

Sway is a brand new cloud based software from Microsoft.  In simple terms, its creates a single webpage utilising content from almost any online source – either your own cloud storage such as OneDrive, or using creative common content from Bing. It is designed as a presentation tool – think PowerPoint crossed with Presi.

The really interesting bit is how easy it is to compile and then reshape (in sway speak, remix) the content into a range of different and interesting looks, feels or navigation styles.… Visit the author's original post
