The messages came pouring in through the live chat, greetings from Vietnam to Croatia, Nigeria to Canada, lighting up the morning with energy and excitement. And like that, the first Hack the Classroom digital event kicked off on January 30, 2016, as tens of thousands of educators from around the world were inspired to go forth and do amazing things in the classroom, armed with inspiring new ideas from speakers and peers.

YouthSpark in Schools helps educators bring tech into the classroom

The Microsoft YouthSpark program has been going strong this year, with YouthSpark in Schools events connecting 25,000 educators to date to free computer science and technology resources. Most recently, professional learning events in Denver and Washington, D.C. have provided educators with resources and ideas to help them integrate technology into their classrooms.

The energy was palpable in the room, an unbelievable buzz in the air as the National Gallery of Hungary was filled with educators from around the world, gathered on the staircase and chanting the name of the event that has shifted their worldview in significant ways during the past three days. Education Leaders from More than 33 Countries Gather at the 2015 Microsoft Education Leaders Briefing

On Sunday, January 18th nearly 100 top-level education leaders gathered in London, representing Argentina to Zimbabwe and 33 countries in between. They attended the Education Leaders Briefing at the Cardinal Place Immersive Classroom, Microsoft Executive Briefing Centre.  These decision makers engaged in dialog with colleagues and experts about transforming education with 1:1 and mobile learning programs.
