Sangeeta Shukramani works as Head Mistress at Kendriya Vidyalaya Sainik Vihar, New Delhi (India): "As an educator my endeavor has been to make a difference to the lives of students and be an agent of change. I get inspired when I see that spark, that excitement in students when they have learned something and when they feel valued. I am motivated to be a positive influence in my student’s lives by opening their minds to new ideas and constructing knowledge that will be beneficial to them. I believe that the ideal teaching environment is one in which the students are able to think, ask questions and explore the relevance that the information has in real life. Education should equip students with 21st century skills and transform them to become responsible citizens."
