Julius Cesar R. Reyes

I’m a Mathematics teacher at Pangasinan National High School in the Philippines. In my career as a teacher, I’ve learned that Mathematics can be more challenging after ten (10) years in the teaching arena. I'm not yet done in learning; that for me this is Mathematics that all of my students can and should experience; that my students should engage in daily problem solving. For me, technology is an ally of student and it will become more exciting if technology and Mathematics merge for one common goal, to eliminate all the misconceptions of students about the subject. I will continue playing with numbers; taking and sharing advantage of technology; and unfolding the challenge of 21st-century skills for my students. As what Rushton Hurley said, “You can be a good teacher and never use technology, and technology won’t turn a bad teacher into a good one. However, a good teacher who uses technology well, can make great things happen!”

Julius Reyes: CineMATHLaya- A Fusion of Cinema, Mathematics and Freedom

By Julius Reyes

“Mathematics?”

…. “Who cares?:”

…. “Not that, it’s so difficult.”

….”Not my type!”

…..”Can I have something else?”

These were the few thoughts I’ve heard even when I was in elementary. Mathematics became a nightmare to almost school children and even adults too during their schooling years.

But how can we live a life without loving it and embracing it. There is nothing to fear about learning Mathematics.

But, how we can break the stigma about it?… Visit the author's original post

Edmodo to Microsoft Office Excel

Edmodo is one of my interactive rooms. I can create a group or section or administer quizzes or assignments with an ultimatum date or time for them to work with. I could even download the results which automatically converted to Microsoft Office Excel format.

What if you encountered a student with multiple accounts? How do you handle this? Feel free to watch my tutorial and learn from it.

Meet Microsoft Mathematics

MMM to post “I found something great software on web!” That’s how I reacted after downloaded, installed and tried using one of a kind Mathematics Software in my teaching and learning. This was Microsoft Mathematics. A software that can illustrate graphs whether 2D or 3D, can multiply or factor polynomials, can show step-by-step solution in solving two or more equations simultaneously, bundled with math and science formulas and many more functions to other branches of Mathematics. Students and teachers need not to be confused on the use of icons in the software.… Visit the author's original post

Over the years , for 10 years, I am used to make school events’ documentation, education technology tools’ tutorial lessons, or teaching Mathematics lessons covered inside of the classroom enhanced by the power of technology then uploading these videos to YouTube or Facebook.Visit the author's original post
