I have more than 15 years of experience teaching English and German and have always focused on cultural awareness and artistic expression as a vehicle for discovering and internalizing a foreign language. I use multimedia and web-based applications to make the learning process more intuitive, where students engage with the language through hands-on activities like science experiments and multimedia art projects in addition to structure and conversation.

Application Forms Made Easy

The skills to answer application questions are one of the most relevant when planning your future.

Here is a small video that I made to help my students practise these skills.

After watching the video I asked to complete a Google Form as a test application. The same form is used in our school to apply for Erasmus+ Mobilities, so they could practise some real life skills and use the written test in case they would like to apply for the workshop.… Visit the author's original post

STEP 2: After a task about the video the students start creating their own stop-motion videos.… Visit the author's original post

Podcast your opinion

Language barrier is one of the main issues when Latvian students study foreign languages, as we are rather introvert people. So, here is one magic trick how to encourage speaking those students who are too shy to do it in the classroom.

THINGS YOU’LL NEED: Spreaker App, headphones and a mic for each group of students or for each student.

Share with your students a plan on OneNote of what their podcast should be about and what questions or issues they should discuss.… Visit the author's original post
